Lincoln Wheelers Cycling Club is proud to be one of the region’s longest-established cycling communities, welcoming riders of all ages and abilities.
Our aim is simple: to promote cycling as a social, recreational, and competitive activity, always with well-being and safety at the forefront.
Membership is open to anyone who loves life on two wheels, whether you’re chasing fitness goals, keen to race, or simply want to enjoy the freedom of cycling with others.
Sunday and Wednesday mornings raise the heartbeat of the Wheelers. Our year-round club runs bring riders together for routes across the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.
Distances vary with the seasons, and rides often split into faster and steadier groups so everyone can find a pace that suits them. Expect ‘no drop’ rides, fabulous coffee and cake, friendly banter and peaceful riding on quiet country lanes.
Beyond the weekly runs, the Wheelers are about sport, adventure and connection. Members frequently arrange ‘away days’ or longer tours to different parts of the UK and Europe exploring new landscapes on two wheels. There’s also the opportunity to get involved in time trials, cyclocross, training sessions, a ‘Go Ride’ section for youngsters and special social events that make the club more than just a place to ride - it’s a place to belong.

King John’s Cycle Route, Lincolnshire
It definitely rained on the first half of The King John’s Cycle Route; a scenic circular trail that winds through the quiet lanes, villages, and rolling countryside of Lincolnshire.
Named after King John, who reputedly lost his treasure in the shifting sands of The Wash in 1216, the route is rich in both history and landscape. Cyclists pass through medieval towns, historic churches, and charming market squares, often following paths once trodden by pilgrims and traders.
The terrain is mostly gentle, with wide views across fenland, rivers, and farmland, making it accessible to riders of varied ability. Along the way, there are opportunities to stop at local cafés, pubs, and heritage sites, offering a blend of leisure and discovery. Designed as a two- or three-day ride, the King John’s Cycle Route invites exploration at a slower pace, combining fitness, reflection, and the deep sense of place that cycling so often inspires.
